Weekends = Brunch Time
Do you agree with this statement? If so then continue reading for some delicious finds! If you don’t seriously you are missing out! I’m a HUGE fan of brunch, breakfast or whatever you wish to call it. There’s just something about a little bit of breakfast items and a little bit of lunch items that make the perfect meal.
For this week’s ” Friday Finds” I will tell you my favorite 5 Brunch/Breakfast locations in Dartmouth that are under $10! These are in alphabetical order and not in any preference order as I absolutely LOVE all these location hot spots!
First on the list is Humble Pie which is located on King Street in Downtown Dartmouth. Humble pie is complete meal that fits in the palm of your hand. The pies are so filling and the crust is so buttery and flaky! Plus the owners are the sweetest people! Between my hubby & I we have tried most of the pies and have loved them all but tend to go to our trusty favorite: The Steak & Cheese. The standard pie ( 5oz) is $6 and the gourmet pie (7oz) is $10.
Second on the list is Palladium Family Restaurant which is technically in Cole Harbour however being from away I consider everything this side of the bridge Dartmouth. The Palladium is open daily and serves their breakfast menu until 3pm throughout the week and 4pm on weekends. The typical breakfast ( 2 eggs, meat, toasts, hash browns with a small juice or coffee/tea) runs at $8 and the omelettes runs between $8-$10. I haven’t had anything at the Palladium that I haven’t liked! The owner and the staff in general is great and makes you feel like you are part of the family.
My third recommendation is Portland Street Creperie also in Downtown Dartmouth. The crepes are absolutely to die for! My favorite crepe was this speciality one (below) during Open City which included brownies, and lots of chocolate! Others that I have enjoyed are: The classic nutella, The Jill and The Snack Time. The crepes run from $6-$9 and will leave you wanting all the crepes!
My fourth recommendation is the Thirsty Turtle Bar and Grill which I actually haven’t tried yet but keep hearing about it and seeing their specials on Facebook and need to try it ASAP! They are advertising a daily special of Steak & Eggs with the purchase of a beverage for $4.99! Seriously that’s a steal!
And last but certainly not least is the famous Two If By Sea known to most as TIBS. This is not your typical brunch item but those croissants are beyond amazing and HUGE enough that it can certainly be a whole meal! My favorite is the Pain au chocolate especially when it’s coming right out of the oven! Add a specialty drink and voila a complete meal. The croissants run from $3.25-$5 and the drinks from $2-$5.
Man oh man now I’m hungry and wanting all the brunch items! Hope you enjoyed this list and as always if you check out any of my recommendations I’d love to hear about it!
Happy Weekend Brunching!
Until next time,
